LightTime has developed technology
that allows the passive modelocking of Raman lasers, in particular, the new silicon
Raman laser. The
processes involved are completely CMOS compatible for use in silicon Raman lasers. In
the latter case, this technology would permit optical clocking in a CMOS-based
microprocessor architecture.
